What does a Radiographer actually do?

Produces the medical images – X-rays, CT, MRI, ultrasound – that doctors use to diagnose illness and injury, working in hospitals, private imaging practices or mobile units. Different specialisations (diagnostic, therapeutic/radiation oncology, nuclear medicine) need different training routes.

Covers three sibling degree streams at the same entry requirements: Diagnostic Radiography, Diagnostic Sonography and Radiotherapy. Grade 11/12 results are first screened at 30 points, then an entrance test, clinical-centre visit and interview follow - meeting the minimum does not guarantee a place. Applications go through the CAO. Closes 15 June 2026 (earlier than DUT’s standard 30 September date).
